The Gog Duamutef is one of the four sons of Horus, along with Imset, Hapi and Qebehsenuef
The Gog Duamutef is one of the four sons of Horus, along with Imset, Hapi and Qebehsenuef. Just like his brothers, he assures the protection of a part of the body of the deceased. The liver, the lungs, the spleen and the intestines were entrusted to these four deities whose heads decorate for the most part the lids of
canopic jars (receptacle containing the internal organs). Duamutef, who has a dog's head, watches over the lungs. His place of worship is found in Nekhen.
