The beaches, with a sea as clear as it is calm and its good quality hotels, make Sharm el Sheikh a destination of choice.
In Sharm el Sheikh there are excursions possible to go and discover the Sinai. Among the highlights are the sunrise on Mount Sinai at seven and a half thousand feet and the Saint Catherine monastery. This journey in the midst of a tormented mineral chaos invaded by sand and populated by strange-shaped rocks, is impressive. Also of interest is Golden Calf Temple, the ancient port of El-Markha, the Fayran Oasis and the coloured rocks of Wadi Ghroum and Colored Canyon. The beaches of Sharm, with their coral and incessant ballet of fish in what is less than three feet of water, will get better on each visit.



The Sinai


The Sinai Peninsula, which measures over 23,000m², is now part of Egypt. It is inhabited by more than 400,000 Egyptians whose activity today makes it an important tourist destination. At just under 8,700ft, Mount Catherine is the highest point in Egypt and is home to Saint Catherine’s Monastery. Mount Sinai is also to be found in the Sinai and according to the Bible is the place where Moses received the 10 commandments.
